The Dead Sea Mob...is Dead
The Dead Sea Mob is Dead!
It’s probably fairly
obvious now after nearly six months of inactivity, but the Dead Sea Mob is
dead! First and foremost we want to say thank you to all involved with the
Mob’s activities, much of what was achieved would not have been possible
without you. From the guest artists, to the wonderful guys
at Parliament of Feathers for all their screen-printing services, and Posca for supplying
us with many, many pens! We did some fantastic shows and got to support
some amazing causes like Sea Shepherd. We hope that our paths will cross
again soon. Thanks to everyone who supported us during The Mob’s brief
voyage.
Secondly we would
like to say that The Mob came to a natural end due to individual artist’s
commitments, and that we will all continue to work together on future
projects! If anyone has any orders placed from the DSM store that were not
fulfilled, please email us directly as opposed to through any DSM social
sites or email. Unfortunately, due to the DSM not being an artist run collective,
we have now been locked out of all of these and are unable to respond
through these means. We will try and help resolve any issues
ourselves if you need to contact us!
Once again, a huge thank
you to everyone who supported The DSM along the
way. We hope to see you all soon!
Big thanks to
Parliament of Feathers, Skinner, Godmachine, Pete Fowler, Dirtyface, Mr Gauky, Ollie
Munden, Harry Draws, Andy Council, Gavin Strange, Posca Pens, Guy
McKinley, Eight Bit, Michael Shantz, Kraken Rum, Lord Whitney, Clutter,
Cult PR, Pure Gallery, Cult PR, Magnum Opus, Green Door Store, King Of
Paint, Sea Sheperd and 55DSL.

Hoorah hooray!
So I know this happened a couple of months ago but it's still amazing and I thought it best to tell everyone again anyway, but we won a bloody great big BAFTA for best Features series for The Great British Bake Off.
I have been a part of the The Great British Bake Off since Series 1 and have worked on every spin off show too, so it is fantastic that the whole team who worked so hard finally got this fantastic recognition for all of our efforts.
I am currently working up the Graphics for Series 3 which is shaping up to be the best series yet!
So all you baking fanatics keep your eyes and ears peeled!

Kraken Rum Inspired Exhibition at Magnum Opus Tattoo in Brighton
I was asked along with whole host of amazing artist and illustrators to produce a piece of artwork inspired by Kraken Rum. The show was curated and exhibited but the legendary tattoo parlour Magnum Opus in Brighton. Not sure how long the show is up for but if you're on the south coast get your pretty asses down there and check it out.

HE-MAN Canvas for Sale - get Bidding!
Last weekend The Dead Sea Mob descended on Camden for some Live Drawing Nostalgia and drinking in Cmaden. I was joined on-stage by Tom J Noodle, Double Dan Mumford, Mr Massive Gauky and Dangerous Doyle Raw Meat.
The Show was called 'I Don't Wanna Grow Up' and it was based on the 80's so I obviously did the awesome He-Man and his bit on the side The Sorceress.
The painting was portraying them post sexy argument, nothing sexier than a girl crying...
So get on ebay and get bidding, it is a must for any 80's grown up kid!

RIP Ralph McQuarrie
I must say I had only really seen glimpses of Ralph McQuarrie's concept work for the original Star Wars but since his sad passing last week. But since, I have been blown away by the amazingness of his huge body of work. The guy was clearly a visionary.
Ralph McQuarrie
(1929 - 2012)
"I am deeply saddened by the passing of such a visionary artist and such a humble man. Ralph McQuarrie was the first person I hired to help me envision Star Wars. His genial contribution, in the form of unequaled production paintings, propelled and inspired all of the cast and crew of the original Star Wars trilogy. When words could not convey my ideas, I could always point to one of Ralph's fabulous illustrations and say, 'Do it like this.'
"Beyond the movies, his artwork has inspired at least two generations of younger artists—all of whom learned through Ralph that movies are designed. Like me, they were thrilled by his keen eye and creative imagination, which always brought concepts to their most ideal plateau. In many ways, he was a generous father to a conceptual art revolution that was born of his artwork, and which seized the imaginations of thousands and propelled them into the film industry. In that way, we will all be benefiting from his oeuvre for generations to come. Beyond that, I will always remember him as a kind and patient, and wonderfully talented, friend and collaborator."

55DSL Friends and Family X The Dead Sea Mob - The Hydra
Hey y'all
so last week Me and Tom J Newell represented the Dead Sea Mob at 55DSL's new flagship store at Shoreditch Boxpark. It was a year on from The Dead Sea Mob's first official outing at 55's original store - A Shot Across The Bows, so we thought it only right to come back and get involved when we were asked and absolutely smash it out the park!
The idea we settled upon was to paint the Hydra- (The multi-headed beast) we thought this would be an awesome way of bringing together the Dead Sea Mob from the four corners of the world, as they could not get to London. So each mobster delivered a head and the beast made The Dead Sea Mob a killer beast to smash all that stood in it's path.
